A few months ago I upgraded my phone to the new Apple iPhone XR. Having two sims in one phone eliminates the need for costly virtual landlines (a big selling point for business owners like me) as you can operate one sim for your personal number and one sim for business purposes. I was curious to find out if there was a way to have a voicemail active for each SIM card. In my curiosity I reached out to EE in search of a solution to my query, how do you run two voicemails when you have an e-sim / dual sim phone?

The iPhone XR works by running two lines ‘Primary’ and ‘Secondary’ or two sims if you will, your regular sim (normally your number) and the e-sim (your second number). You can set these lines to suite your personal preference. For me my ‘Primary’ line I have as my personal number and my ‘secondary’ line I have as my business number however you can have these whichever way round you wish.
Amidst my persistence to find a solution, I discovered that there is a way to operate two voicemails. If you call voicemail by using the voicemail icon on your keypad you will be connected to your primary sims voicemail. However, if you call 2222 from your secondary line, you will be connected to your e-sim voicemail.
Voila! Problem solved 🙂
